Hi Everyone
Well it appears that the last round of updates on the community were certainly well received and there are many more soon to be released.
We are now working on the community categories and searching options which will go a long way to giving you all the same functionality as the old community site. I still receive questions about why we changed from what we had and it is a hard question to answer.
In fact it is very technical and I am not a web developer but in short, it is all about being able to continue expanding the community options and integrating with all the other aspects of the Echidna website. In other words preparing for the future.
Townsville Trip
On another note, thanks to everyone who came and said hello at the Townsville Craft Fair recently. I really enjoyed my stay in Townsville and am looking forward to spending more time in North Queensland. I’ll keep you informed about this so stay tuned.
Next Echidna Newsletter
We are now preparing our next Printed Newsletter and it will be a big one with loads of exciting new products and stories to tell you about. I am aiming for an early September delivery so keep an eye on the mailbox about then.
Machine Service and Repairs
It will be in our Newsletter but it is worth noting now that we expanded our repairs and servicing centre with a new workshop fit out and employed one of the industries most experienced sewing machine mechanics. Steve Watson has returned to OZ and is now working with our own very experienced and long serving mechanic Derek Jamie to offer fast, efficient, affordable and friendly machine servicing on most brands.
Steve has 41 years experience and has worked extensively with me in the past. He was living in Christchurch, New Zealand, when the big quake hit and has decided to return to Brisbane where his children have all established their families. It’s great to have Steve back working with me and I must say it is like having the old gang back together as Steve, Derek, Doug, Brett and myself all worked together back in the early 1990s.
When your machine or machines are due for service (any make or model), please call Derek or Steve on 07 3390 3600 or just drop it in to our showroom. You’ll get honest, no nonsense advice and quality, guaranteed servicing.
That’s all for now folks.
Cheers
Gary and the Echidna Team.
