About Echidna Club
In 1986 I started my own retail sewing machine sales & service business in Brisbane. In 1988, eager to expand my career, I sold what was already a successful shop and was appointed State Manager for the Singer Sewing Machine Co. and soon after was promoted to General Manager for Singer New Zealand. The incredible growth of the embroidery industry was overwhelming, so much so that in 1998 I was forced to sell my shop yet again to concentrate solely on supplying the Home Embroidery Market with innovation and education. Now, together with a dedicated and team of enthusiastic staff, Echidna is well recognized within Australia for supplying and supporting world leading products from software & design companies such as Generations Digitising Software, Buzz Tools Inc., digitise-wise™, Zundt Designs of Switzerland, Martha Pullen and Loralie Designs. Other famous brand products include Hemingworth, Belkin and Brother. We are 100% committed to providing world class products, support, inspiration and education and we aim to build a truly unique and informative website for embroidery enthusiasts all around the world. My name is Gary Walker and I'm proud to say that Echidna Sewing Products is an Australian owned and operated family company run by myself and my wife, Cynthia. I have a long history in the sewing industry, starting my career as an Apprentice Sewing Machine Technician with the Stubbies Clothing Company, one of Australia's leading clothing manufacturers back in 1981.
