Zundt Swiss Embroidery

Zundt designs – no longer available from Echidna!

I regret to advise that as of the 1st February 2012, Echidna will no longer have any association with Zundt Design of Switzerland. Echidna introduced Zundt designs to Australian embroiderers about seven years ago and worked very hard to establish the Zundt name as a premier design range in Australia. Invitations to present at two Echidna conventions and of course to be part of our most recent “Decorate Your Life with Embroidery” tour from Melbourne to Townsville, have certainly given Urban Zundt the opportunity to make a name for himself in Australia.

He has decided however, that he wishes to pursue an alternate sales arrangement in Australia and I have no doubt that he will make these plans public in due course. It is a rather “out of the blue” decision and indeed disappointing for us, but nonetheless, it is his prerogative to do so and we wish him well for the future.

This does NOT apply to the SoftLight™ thread range!

The SoftLight™ thread which is sometimes referred to as Zundt Softlight ... is, in fact, an Echidna product – not a Zundt product. Trademark rights are claimed on the internal label of each spool. The outer label merely states that it is recommended by Zundt Design. Please note that SoftLight™ is only available from Echidna and our authorised stockists.

As stated, this is a disappointing ending to an otherwise wonderful seven year association with Urban Zundt and I do genuinely wish him all the best with his future endeavours.

On the upside of course, as one door closes another one surely opens. In fact we are on the verge of making the most radical announcement for embroidery design sales that the industry has seen since the advent of downloading designs from the internet.

I would love to say more but we do need another couple of months to finalize things.

You will be amazed at what is on the horizon!
